A Work of Art under the sign of Mythology
This year, Palomas has called on M/M (PARIS) to reinvent its classic end-of-year box set.
The collaboration between M/M and Palomas is the result of a meeting between this artist-designer duo, who are constantly challenging the boundaries of image, and a century-old house of fine chocolate making that perpetuates the incomparable taste of childhood.
A Singular and Mythical Setting
M/M (Paris) has created an original work inspired by the horn of plenty, reflecting the richness of the flavours of the Maison Palomas® fine chocolate factory.
This allegory of pleasure and greed takes the form of a Dionysian face in ecstasy before a profusion of delicacies. A phantasmagorical carnival of fruits, leaves, flowers and chimeras awakens the senses and makes you want to melt into the Palomas gustatory universe, in a singular setting whose line, a veritable contemporary illumination, expresses the inexpressible abundance of emotions aroused by the palette of chocolates and confectionery that the artists have discovered.
M/M (Paris)'s close observation of the exceptional skills of the House of Palomas®, a master chocolate maker, has resulted in the publication of a limited series with a design inspired by the tastes and the profusion of delicacies that make up the identity of the House of Palomas.
A gift for Chocolat Lovers
Each box is to be personalised and can contain four boxes of emblematic products of La Maison Palomas®, namely Palets de Fourvière®, Les Délicia®, Les Amandes Bellecour® and an assortment of chocolate sweets or original confectionery.
« The inspiration for this conversation between creative actors is to visually express the uniqueness of Palomas chocolates and confectionery through an illustration that only Michaël Amzalag and Mathias Augustyniak have the secret to. Dreamlike, transgressive, a free interpretation of a cornucopia, the chimerical central character expresses the strong and contrasting sensations felt by the artists when tasting Palomas chocolates and confectionery », Dominique Clerc emphasises.
About M/M (Paris)
Founded in 1992 by Michaël Amzalag and Mathias Augustyniak as a graphic design studio, M/M (Paris) has since defied categorization to become one of the most influential creative structures of today through their work at the intersection of different creative fields.
As thinkers and practitioners of the image, M/M have pushed the boundaries of graphic design. They conceive their practice as a sustained production of signs and images with which they construct a complex visual language, which confronts the universal and the particular, the conscious and the unconscious, and combines the freedom of drawing with the necessity of the structures inherent in design.
