Faithful to the original, our Palet d'Or is made up of a semi-bitter ganache, enhanced by a dash of ground, Brazilian Arabica coffee. Palets d'Or are coated in 70% cacao chocolate and then sprinkled with real gold.

The ganache in the Palet d'Or is not the most intense of our range of chocolate; it is balanced and not excessively bitter.
A Word from our Chocolate Master
Created at the end of the 19th century by the Sérady chocolatier in Moulin in the Allier, the Palet d'Or is a classic chocolate. Originally enhanced by a little coffee to bring out the bitterness of the chocolate, the Palet d'Or was decorated with thin petals of real gold. The gold used to decorate our Palets d'Or is supplied by the firm Dauvet, the last French "goldbeater", located in the Gex region. Gold leaf is used in chocolate-making but the main business of "gold-beaters" is to supply gold leaf for renovating historic monuments.
